Some of the advice tidbits out there are just silly, others downright dangerous.<\/p>\n
You\u2019ll come across things like a wife suggesting, “Whenever we’re working on something, we make it a point to ask the other person \u2018Can I help?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
Screeeeech.<\/em><\/p>\n If you\u2019ve tried this one out, you may have noticed scratches in the romantic record you were hoping to play.<\/p>\n Being \u201chelpful\u201d is actually one of the biggest mistakes wives make. Most are as clueless as I was that \u201chelpful\u201d in wife language means \u201ccontrolling\u201d in husband language. Then she\u2019s baffled as to why he\u2019s inexplicably annoyed when she\u2019s trying to be such a helpful, good wife!<\/p>\n Instituting a date night is another horrible idea if what you want<\/em> is for him to actually want to spend time with you.<\/p>\n Ditto with going to marriage counseling, which is all too often the death knell of an already fading marriage.<\/p>\n
